We have all been there. You get home late from work and your stomach is growling. You want to eat healthy but you are too tired to spend an hour cooking. This is when most people give up and order takeout. But you do not have to ruin your diet just because you are busy. You just need the right healthy dinner recipes for weight loss that take less than twenty minutes to make.

Healthy Dinner Recipes For Weight Loss: 15 Minute Salmon

Today we are looking at a super fast meal that will keep you full and happy. If you are looking for more ideas, you can check out this healthy dinner recipes website to find quick meals. This specific recipe uses fresh salmon and zucchini noodles. It is light, packed with protein, and tastes amazing.

Why This Dish Fits Your Weight Loss Goals

Salmon is one of the best foods you can eat when you want to lose weight. It is loaded with high quality protein and healthy omega three fatty acids. Protein is important because it keeps you feeling full for hours. When you feel full, you are much less likely to snack on junk food later in the evening.

Zucchini noodles, or zoodles, are a great swap for regular pasta. Regular pasta has a lot of carbs and calories that can slow down your progress. Zucchini noodles give you the same fun texture of pasta but with a fraction of the calories. You can eat a giant bowl of zoodles and still stay well within your daily calorie limit.

This meal also uses fresh lemon and simple herbs. These ingredients add a burst of flavor without adding extra sugar or fat. You get a restaurant quality meal right in your own kitchen.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 15 minutes

Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • Two salmon fillets, about six ounces each
  • Two medium zucchinis, turned into noodles
  • One tablespoon of olive oil
  • Two cloves of garlic, minced
  • One fresh lemon, juiced and zested
  • One teaspoon of dried oregano
  • Half a teaspoon of salt
  • Half a teaspoon of black pepper

Instructions

First, pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides of the salmon with salt, black pepper, and dried oregano. This helps the seasoning stick and gives the fish a nice crust.

Next, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Once the pan is hot, add the salmon fillets skin side down. Cook the salmon for about four to five minutes until the skin is crispy. Flip the salmon over and cook for another three to four minutes until it is cooked through.

Remove the salmon from the pan and set it aside on a plate. Keep the pan on the heat and add the minced garlic. Cook the garlic for thirty seconds until it smells great.

Now, toss the zucchini noodles into the same pan. Stir them around to coat them in the garlic and leftover pan juices. Cook the zoodles for just two minutes so they stay slightly crunchy. If you cook them too long, they will get soggy.

Pour the lemon juice and lemon zest over the zucchini noodles. Stir well to combine. Divide the noodles between two plates and top each plate with a salmon fillet.
